The flower of The Project’s logo represents the volunteer.
With the help of parents and the community, The Project plants the seeds of goodwill, compassion and neighborly love, then nurtures their growth with its “Four-Core” Principles.
Volunteers experience
a unique and personal Journey as they learn to
Build Strong Roots
&
Bloom Proudly.
The Project is not a daycare. The Project is a safe place for anyone to stop in and/or hang out, with the ultimate goal of assisting with community service projects while hanging out. Individuals are able to come and go as they please and there is no minimum amount of service time required.
This is a public establishment and everyone is welcome; however, children under the age of 9 should have an older sibling, parent or guardian with them.
Our volunteers are everyday people doing everyday things that make everlasting impacts in everyday lives.
We just love it when people get involved. Each person has been blessed with gifts and talents that fit perfectly with the rest of us to complete our team and allow us to make a difference in the world around us.
From kindergarten students to high school seniors, teachers to parents, octogenarians to retirees to young twenty-something's...each of our volunteers are important and have so much to offer. So do YOU.
We are always looking for new hands, feet, minds and personalities to add to our wonderful crew of volunteers. There are no specific time commitments, volunteer whenever and however you are able.
Think you would be a good fit?

"A single seed can yield a harvest; a single shout can cause an avalanche; and a single act of kindness can change the world."
-Mrs. Heather
After prayerful consideration, For His Families, Inc. began in July 2016 (originally chartered as For Families, Inc.) in response to God's calling to serve the community through the strengthening and healing of families.
The initial focus was upon families impacted by the local Foster Care and Juvenile Justice System. The supports and services provided were individualized to each parent and/or child as was determined appropriate. However, God drew our attention to the needs of families on a greater scale.
We have learned and acknowledge that NO family is perfect and that ALL families benefit from healthy connections and support from within and from those around them.
In February 2020, For His Families, Inc. opened the doors of its new program called THE PROJECT to connect with parents, children and families and grow our community through group activities, family events, and community service projects.
After growing out of our space, The Project moved next door to a larger unit in September 2023. The children and families have enjoyed the new location immensely, but once again space is becoming limited.
It has been a three-year-long, prayerful journey, but we finally have achieved our dream. Some time in late 2025, The Project will move to its new location in the lower level of the old Pittsburgh Plate Glass building, at the intersection of Mississippi Avenue and Bailey Street, in
Crystal City, Missouri.
What an honor! Heather Crosby, on behalf of The Project, was presented with a Proclamation of World Kindness Day from the Mayor of Crystal City, Missouri for the community service
and love demonstrated during The Umoja Project
on November 13, 2021.
Our volunteers give their time and energy to positively impact our community. In addition to the joy and intrinsic rewards of serving others, the volunteers also have fun tracking their service hours and following their progress in quarterly individual and team contests.
